Kalimpong, WB

per person

Happy smiling faces, quant picturesque beautiful cottages, low altitude serene treks and a village surrounded by the glorious mountains. This is what awaits you when you reach the Gerok village.

The Locale:

This unexplored little gem of a village is just 21km from Kalimpong and is well connected by roads and can be reached via Algarah or Rishop route. And if you are an adventurer we can find the best trek route which will lead you to Gerok.

Gerok portrays the perfect harmony between humans and nature, where people live under the shadow of nature and a beautiful symphonic relationship can be seen between the two. An hour and half walk from Gerok would take you to the Tam Khola Falls. The Ramitey Dara viewpoint, which falls on the way to the village school, it has one of the longest views of River Reshi meandering below in the gorges. The little-known Deorali Dara also offers great views of Eastern Sikkim and the snow-capped mountains.

The Abode:

A British Era structure drenched in pre-colonial hangover, the wooden cottage in which you are going to stay will make your visit comfortable and maybe a bit nostalgic as well. The cottage is surrounded by farmlands maintained by the owners themselves where they cultivate varied varieties of organic edible and medicinal plants. You can participate in the farms day to day activities which includes maintenance of the vegetable patches and plants, catering to the farm animals, cooking etc.

Major attraction includes, organic farming, treks towards one the most beautiful churches which is situated on the top of a hill from where you can get an unobstructed view of the mighty Kanchenjunga, indigenous bird watching and acquiring knowledge of varied variety of medicinal plants, treks towards the nearby river and if you are lucky maybe you can catch a fish or two.
