The trek towards Mulkarkha is one of the most awe-inspiring journeys in the North Indian Himalayan region. With majestic landscapes, undisturbed rivulets, deep gorges, majestic waterfalls accompanied by the peaceful aura of the forests. The trek stretches from an elevation of 4500 feet to 7000 feet, which is one of the easy to moderate treks in the lower Himalayan range.

Day 1: Lingsey
Distance: 104 Km from Siliguri Time taken: 4 hours by car (Transportation not included)

Day2: Trek from Lingsey to Jushing
Distance: 3 Km (Easy to Moderate Uphill Trek)
Altitude: 5400 ft.
Time taken: 1.5 hours
By now your eye will adjust to the lush green surrounding, ears in keen interest trying to distinguish the sounds of the variety of birds chipping around and the best part –the intoxicating woodsy pine cold air through your nostril will fill your soul with peace.
Day3: Trek from Jushing to Tagathan
Distance: 4.5 Km (Uphill Trek)
Altitude: 5900 ft.
Time taken: 3 hours
Day 4: Trek from Tagathan to Mulkarkha
Distance: 3.5 Km uphill
Altitude: 7300 feet
Time taken: 4 hours
Post breakfast start you trek early for Mulkarkha.
The trek from Tagathan to Mulkharkha is relatively easy and less challenging, so you get an ample amount of time to soak in the beauty of the little houses, farmlands and the mountains that surround the area. A variety of species of birds can be found in these regions so keep an eye open for them.
Day 5: Mulkarkha
Wake up early and hike for the Mulkharkha lake to experience the magnificent sunrise. If one is lucky enough you will be able to see the reflection of Mt. Kanchenjunga in the lake.
